Achilles tendinopathy

Achilles tendinopathy | Shockwave Treatment | Osteopathy

The Achilles tendon is the largest and strongest tendon in the human body. Achilles tendinopathy is among the most common musculoskeletal injuries, especially in athletes and weekend warriors in running activities.

Common symptoms are:
-Pain and stiffness at the back of your heel during the first steps when you get out of bed or after a period of rest or inactivity.

-The tendon at the back of the ankle may be warm and tender to the touch.
-The tendon may be swollen or thickened in appearance.
-Limited range of movement of the ankle. (Dorsi Flexion)

How osteopathy helps:
Osteopathy focuses on restoring normal movement and load through the ankle, foot, calf, and lower limb. By improving joint mobility, reducing muscular tension, and addressing biomechanical factors such as gait and calf function, osteopathic treatment helps reduce strain on the Achilles tendon and supports long-term healing rather than short-term symptom relief.
