Fracture Rehab

Fracture rehabilitation focuses on restoring strength, mobility, and function after a broken bone has healed. While the bone itself usually heals well with proper medical care, surrounding muscles, ligaments, and joints can become stiff, weak, or imbalanced during the recovery period. This can lead to pain, reduced movement, or compensatory strain in other areas of the body.

Osteopathic treatment plays an important role in post-fracture recovery. Once the bone has safely healed, an osteopath uses gentle manual techniques—such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, and stretching—to improve flexibility, circulation, and muscle balance around the affected area. Treatment also helps restore proper joint alignment and reduce tension in surrounding structures that may have been overworked during immobilisation.

Individualised rehabilitation exercises are often prescribed to rebuild strength, coordination, and confidence in movement. Osteopathic care supports a smooth and effective recovery, helping patients regain optimal function and prevent long-term complications.
